IELTS is used for a variety of purposes, including work, school, and migration. More than 10,000 organizations trust IELTS as a reliable indicator of the ability to speak English fluently. IELTS assesses a test taker’s English proficiency in four skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training are made to cover the full spectrum of skills from those who have never used them to those who are seasoned pros. The academic version is intended for those who want to pursue professional registration or tertiary education in an English-speaking nation.
The General Training version is for people who want to work, train, or study at a secondary school. The academic and general training versions differ in the topics covered and the purpose of the tasks. All other aspects of the job, such as timing allocation, response length, and repository access, will be decided based on the applicant’s qualifications.
IELTS, delivered on either a laptop or paper, is the only high-stakes language test recognized for immigration across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. Over ten thousand years ago, IELTS was the first four-skills English language test with a focus on human conversations. Today’s English language tests are still held to the high standards set by IELTS.
IELTS Test Format
IELTS could be a test of all four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. You may take the Listening, Reading, and Writing tests all on the same day with no breaks in between. For the Speaking test, you’ll book a slot online on your most convenient date and time. If you fail to decide on a slot at intervals within the stipulated time, a slot is going to be automatically allotted to you.
IELTS Listening test (30 minutes) You have to listen to 4 recordings and then answer the questions. The duration of the test is 30 min and the recording is of native English speakers.
IELTS Reading test
(60 minutes) The IELTS Reading test has 40 questions that you have to answer and is designed to test reading skills. You would have to read for skills, ideas, details, and logical arguments, and figure out the writer’s attitudes, opinions and intentions.
IELTS Writing test (60 minutes) The IELTS writing test required you to complete 2 tasks and covers topics of general interest based on the module you are taking.
IELTS Speaking Test (11-14 minutes) The IELTS Speaking test your spoken English skills. The test is recorded on their platform and conducted in 3 parts.
IELTS check dates
In order to give candidates the most preparation time, IELTS test dates in India are offered four times per month or 48 times a year (for paper-based tests). They are typically held on Saturdays and Thursdays. If you opt for computer-delivered IELTS, you can select from a variety of dates and times and receive your results in three to five days. However, the availability of the IELTS dates might be different depending on the test sort and module and whether the academic opted for a tutorial or general coaching.
Why choose IELTS?
It is the check for study. The scores from the IELTS are accepted as evidence of English language proficiency by thousands of the most prestigious universities and colleges in the world.
It is the test for professionals and skilled registration bodies in several fields, as well as accounting, engineering, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and teaching bodies in several countries. This means that you’ll get to take the IELTS to achieve skilled registration in an English-speaking country.
This is the test for immigration. Most governments prefer IELTS scores as proof of your language skills to the other English language test when demanding permanent residency. Not like other suppliers, the IELTS General Coaching test is the only non-academic test offered for migration to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, and therefore the USA.
The check is more equitable for you— IELTS evaluates your abilities in practical communication and provides an accurate evaluation of the four skills being tested. It focuses on testing the language talents instead of the specialist data of the candidate and provides two versions: tutorial and general coaching. Plus, the Speaking check is conducted one-on-one with an authorized examiner.
The IELTS test’s content goes through a thorough analysis process to ensure that it is accurate and fair for all candidates, regardless of their position, background, gender, way of life, or location.
